The machine on which this site resides runs the ever-so wonderful Gentoo Linux - possibly the most versatile, configurable and easy-to-upgrade distro out there. Well worth a look! |

That same machine uses an Athlon XP processor - far more cost-effective (and altogether more elegant) than the stuff Intel is presently churning out. AMD have to be doing something right as, for once, Intel are following their with their EM64 64-bit CPU extensions... |

Goat uses the Smarty template engine to make the site look pretty with the minimum of fuss. We can't fully articulate exactly how wonderful Smarty is - long story short, it removed approximately 60% of the code we previously used to automate the layout of the site whilst simultaneously introducing a great deal of flexability. Stonking product. |
