1989 Land Rover Discovery Tdi2004-Present
Brilliant work horse, this one :-)
This is one of the first Discoveries and hence it's a three-door model. The thinking behind giving it only three doors is said to be so that it could be differentiated from the Range Rover - as if the shape didn't do that already!. It has Land Rover's saviour of an engine - the 200-series Tdi - and an LT77 five-speed manual. It's covered 160,000 miles and is still going strong!
It's recently had some new tyres thrown on it and is used for trailer towing - most recently to get amputated bits of Range Rover to the tip!
Specs:
- 2.5-litre, in-line four-cylinder turbocharged diesel (200 Tdi)
- LT77 5-speed manual gear box
- LT230T 2-speed transfer gearbox with integral manually-lockable centre differential
- Solid disc brakes front and rear, two-circuit servo-assisted hydraulics.
- Stock beam axles front and rear
- Stock suspension and dampers front and rear
- Electric windows, central locking
