1990 Range Rover Classic

2005-Present
1990 Range Rover Classic

It might look nice and shiny on the top, but that is one extremely rusty vehicle!

Bought in the Summer of 2005, it's primary purpose is to be a parts donor for my ailing Dakar as its running gear is in excellent condition while the body and chassis are rusting into oblivion. I bought it off eBay for £800 and drove it back from Wales on it's last day of MOT! It drove superbly, but the sheer quantity of corrosion underneath precluded me from repairing it economically. I really enjoyed the drive back from Wales in it, though!

It's steadily being stripped - the entire dash assembly and carpets have been transplanted to the Dakar, as has the transmission. The engine is presently in the barn and due to go in this weekend.

Not a lot else to say, really :-)

Specs:

  • 3.9-litre, fuel-injected V8
  • 4-speed ZF 4HP22 automatic transmission
  • 2-speed Borg Warner chain-drive transfer box with viscous-coupled centre differential
  • 1& lift heavy duty suspension and dampers, anti-roll bars front and rear
  • 4-channel Wabco ABS system with front ventilated and rear solid discs
  • Power steering, electric windows, central locking
